Designing and Developing KFS Website as a Freelancer
This website was developed as a freelance project for Khowutzun Forest Services (KFS), a forestry and environmental services company located on Vancouver Island. The opportunity was introduced to us by Mark Ashfield, founder of Superheroes of Victoria, who connected our team with KFS after our successful collaboration on a charity website.
I was responsible for designing the layout in Figma, developing several pages in WordPress, and ensuring a clean, user-friendly interface that aligned with KFS’s brand. I also contributed to the content structure, image selection, and mobile responsiveness of the site
Our three-person team worked closely with the KFS staff, coordinating through regular meetings to understand their goals and values. We shared tasks based on our strengths and provided a cohesive, professional product that met their expectations.
The final website showcases KFS’s services, mission, and history in a visually engaging and accessible format. It helped enhance their online presence and connect more effectively with community members and potential clients. The site was built to be easily editable by their internal team, ensuring long-term usability and independence.
